Adieu
She was alone, all alone, shivering in the cold of this room
Casting one last look as once more, the school has come to an end.
The sun was already setting, flooding the floor with graciously solemn colors
With the gentle blow of the summer breeze and a soft rustle of the leaves,
She was gone, away from the memory of her high school years.
Again in her mind played her splendid recollections of her first day at school
And the wonderful days that used to be hers, taken for granted, and utterly wasted
Of the big Narra tree that showed her support, and seemingly comfort in cruel days
And the old building of where she would stay, idly watching the sun retreat to the sea
It seemed as if all of her life was there in those days, but then, she had no choice
And she cried as she remembered the experiences that led her through the cruel stages of life
All of those that she learned in order to survive and exist
And all those that she did to fight, to stand up, to cry for the sake of her love
Yes, she had gone through three long years of sadness and tears,
Of biting back her tears as she felt her heart crushed unknowingly by the one she adored
And smiling amidst the sorrow that wells up in her, ready to burst
Wanting to disappear, to vanish, to just fade away into the thinnest of air
For he was the one she loved, and the only one she will ever love
He had not known of this, for she hid her feelings behind a mask of thickest clay
Afraid that shall he find out, he would deprive her of her joy of his company
To love him, to feel his presence without him even knowing how she felt
Without her knowing that they felt the same in all those years.
For they had both hid their thoughts, in fear of losing what they treasured the most
Yet as they did, they both lost in the end, both giving up as they separated ways
Away from the school where they first came to be,
Away from where they last let go of each other’s hands,
While in their hearts they say, sayonara, my love, goodbye…
