Blogging for human readers or search engines?

description

The Filipino Librarian did another summary of the October stats from PinoyTopBlogs.

He’s asking for theories why the rankings goes up and down every month except for several blogs in the top 50 that more or less have been there most of the year.

I’d like to propose a theory — some bloggers write for readers while others blog for search engines. It’s pretty simple actually. There are buzz content and there are serious content. Buzz content means that these are stuff people most often search online.

It would be nice to have a deeper research and dissect over the stats and look how much are repeat readers and how much are one-time visitors. Also look into the number of email subscribers or RSS feed readers as well.

Unfortunately, PinoyTopBlogs treat all these unique stats equally and we can’t segregate them unless we do it manually. Anybody doing a list of Philippines blogs based on the number of feed readers or comments-per-post ratio? Would be nice to compare them with other raw data.
